Ultrasound is a multi-dimensional sound wave technology used to create images of arteries, and is often the first line of screening for abdominal abnormalities. This testing is frequently used to determine the presence of blood clots in primary arteries.
The evolution of ultrasound over the past two years has been amazing. The latest advancements contribute to an extremely quick and painless testing process, and the clarity of images from today's technology is far superior to even last year's technology. The improved clarity has contributed to ultrasound becoming the (far less invasive) testing procedure of choice over angiograms. And with the technology employed at PMI, there is no radiation involved with ultrasound.
