Ultrasound
Patient information: For instructions and forms, please select your test from the navigation menu on the left.
Ultrasound is a multi-dimensional sound wave technology used to create images, and is often the first line of screening for abdominal soft tissue and vascular abnormalities. This testing is frequently used to determine the presence of blood clots in primary blood vessels.
The evolution of ultrasound over the past two years has been amazing. The latest advancements contribute to an extremely quick and painless testing process, and the clarity of images from today's technology is far superior to even last year's technology. The improved clarity has contributed to ultrasound becoming the (far less invasive) testing procedure of choice over angiograms. There is no radiation involved with ultrasound.
