PMI Receives ACR Accreditation PMI Hosts 1st Annual Picnic for Medical Community PMI Title Sponsor for Leukemia Light the Night Walk Supporting the Prescott Community |
![]() PMI Receives ACR Accreditation Prescott Medical Imaging has been awarded a 3-year term of accreditation for Magnetic Resource Imaging issued by the American College of Radiology (ACR), headquartered in Reston, Virginia. ACR provides accreditation to facilities for achievement of high practice standards after an extensive peer review of board-certified physicians and medical physicists. Both PMI personnel and facility equipment were evaluated as part of the accreditation process. PMI Host 3rd Annual Picnic for Medical Community The 3rd Annual Appreciation Picnic was held on May 17th for staff members of physician offices and medical services organizations. Over 100 medical professionals joined the staff of PMI for a BBQ cookout catered by Babe’s Round-Up from Camp Verde. The event was held to demonstrate PMI's appreciation for the support of the medical community since the opening of Prescott Medical Imaging in November of 2003. As part of the lunch program, PMI provided individual tours of their facility. Imaging Center is Title Sponsor for Leukemia Light the Night Walk PMI is dedicated to helping people whose lives have been touched by blood cancers like Leukemia, Lymphoma and Hodgkin's, including several families of their own employees. That's why PMI became the title sponsor for the Light the Night Walk, the leading annual fundraiser of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2006. This annual event is held in September at the Stoneridge Community in Prescott Valley. In addition to serving as the title sponsor, PMI will take to the field with a team of walkers, mostly consisting of employees and their families. This will be the 4th year that PMI has supported the event. As a result of their participation, PMI donated $5,200 to the walk and a total of $53,000 was raised in 2006. Leukemia is the number one cancer afflicting children under the age of 15. But it can, along with other blood cancers, strike people at any age. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is dedicated to research for a cure, patient services, advocacy and education. Much of the money raised at the September 16th event stays in the local community to help those in need. Supporting the Prescott Community Aside from the Light the Night Walk, PMI is also committed to other community events, including the Christmas Run/Walk for Children, and the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. They are also major sponsors for Multiple Sclerosis, Breast Cancer, and The Boys and Girls Club. PMI will host its 2nd Annual Mother, Daughter, Friend, Tea Social in October to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Promoting Breast Cancer Awareness is an important community service for PMI. PMI made a generous donation to the Prescott Unified School District to help them in their efforts to provide defibrillators to all their schools. Additionally, PMI host Breast Care Day and observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with numerous women programs during the month, including the donation of mammography for financially compromised women. PMI also participates in a number of community-based health fairs throughout the year. Student Art Show Hosted by PMI Students of Prescott High School have the opportunity to display their talent thanks to the 3rd annual hosting of a fine arts show at Prescott Medical Imaging. Each year, PMI displays paintings, photography and sculptures of students from the high school. The art is displayed throughout PMI and will be on available for the public's review. The majority of the students are part of Mike Murphy's advanced classes at PHS. Students were honored at an Open House Reception at PMI on Monday, 12/4/2006. |
